Generate High-Specificity Monoclonal Antibodies Faster
Selected Citations for Biomatik’s Custom Antibody Services
Biomatik’s single B cell monoclonal antibody production service provides a powerful alternative to traditional hybridoma methods. We isolate and sequence antigen-specific B cells from immunized animals to generate high-affinity, sequence-defined monoclonal antibodies. This approach captures natural heavy-light chain pairings, and is ideal for difficult targets and projects where timeline and reproducibility are critical.
We can also produce the target antigen peptide or protein for your project through our custom peptide synthesis and recombinant protein production services, offering you a seamless, full-service solution from antigen generation to antibody delivery.

About Single B Cell Antibody Technology
Single B cell antibody technology is an advanced approach for rapidly isolating and producing high-affinity monoclonal antibodies directly from the B cells of immunized animals. Unlike traditional methods that rely on hybridoma generation (which involves fusing B cells with myeloma cells), single B cell platforms allow researchers to capture native heavy and light chain antibody pairs from individual B cells. This results in fully recombinant monoclonal antibodies with unmatched specificity, consistency, and reproducibility.
The Single B Cell Workflow
The process begins with immunization of an animal – typically mice or New Zealand rabbits – using your antigen of interest. Antigen-specific B cells are then isolated from peripheral blood, spleen, or lymphoid tissues using advanced cell-sorting techniques. These cells are screened and selected based on antigen binding affinity.
The heavy and light chain genes from individual B cells are amplified by PCR, sequenced, and cloned into expression vectors. Finally, the antibody is expressed recombinantly to produce a fully characterized monoclonal antibody.
This method enables:
- Retrieval of natural paired heavy and light chain genes
- Rapid identification of high-affinity binders
- Early sequence availability for future recombinant production or engineering
